Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

That is super cute:)

He is an adorable little fella. They live in the city so he loves to come out here with all the animals. He nurses the snakes (pet) and hand feeds the sheep and loves to collect the eggs to take home with him. Only thing he doesn't like are the turkeys..

We entertain here, do seed exchange and have drinks in the garden.. I never thought box wine would go over very well, but for the price.. Just about 2-3 people in our community on every block has chickens.. Now we are working on getting nationally recognized threw the National Wildlife Federation.. You can see the green metal plaque in part of our garden.. Not a wino either, much prefer beer.. Just wondered if people in your area had this particular wine, being from Australia?
Good luck on getting nationally recognised! What sort of wildlife do you get in your garden? Due to the deadly reptiles we get over here I try to make my garden as unfriendly to reptilian wildlife as possible - no hiding spots, short lawn where it isn't desert, neatish shed. They move in so quickly. We moved some bricks into a pile & I went to get a couple to put under a pot & found that a legless lizard had already moved in. She can stay & have lots of babies when she's bigger because they eat other reptiles. : ) I've had several species of skinks, a variety of snakes and a baby water dragon in our garden. I don't mind the skinks either, I just worry that my cats will hurt them.

My chicks had their first outing yesterday. A cheap roll of chicken wire, zip ties, one tired old trampoline and five minutes later I had a large enclosure on lawn.

My home made chick feeder works much better than the bought one. So much less wastage. It consists of a tray & thick cardboard with holes cut into it. Clearly not waterproof, but easy to replace & good enough for the time I'll have them.

There was a fair bit of running & chest bumping which I hadn't seen before so starting my roo suspect list.

One of the first things my city friends worry about when they come to visit is omg what if a snake gets me... We have been here 7 and half years and never seen a deadly snake in our yard. Lots of coastal pythons, a few green trees snakes and a beautiful brown tree snake and a few spotted pythons.. My neighbour a few doors up's hubby runs a tilt tray hire service so they have lots of car bodys on their 5 acres.. They also have a lot of brown snakes. My preference is give me a snake any day over a goanna. The things so freak me out.
