Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

My babies are finally hatching!! This photo is Impatient (an Ara) who hatched a full 2 hours before any sibling, he was the first to pip as well. I'm intrigued about his colouring since the other Aras have been Blue or Black with dark legs. (I know he's pure too cause I got to look around the property when I got the eggs and there was only Aras in a variety of colours) There's 4 FW Marans and 4 Aras out and fluffed and another Maran half unzipped. The 4 left have pipped holes but are resting right now I think. (hopefully they'll hatch later but I know they might not) I did lose 1 Ara as he got over zealous when pipping and pipped through a blood vessel, I called out for help on my local fb page and followed their advice over the next 4 hours but sadly I think he just got too tired. He did try his best though. I think myself and Harriet have done a pretty good job for our first time though. :) Other then when she pecked at Emergency in his egg but I think she knew he wouldn't make it and they are programmed to nip at red things.
If there were blues and blacks could it be a splash?

Ooh, possibly. :) there was also red ones and a gorgeous dark brown one at the place but I don't know what colour they'd hatch. Haha. I've never even held a baby chick before so I'm so new. Can't be lav or it'd have a grey tinge to it.

Sorry your cat was bitten. It sounds more like a tick to me than a snake. Paralysis and loss of voice is some of the first symptoms you will see in a cat affected by a tick. I have not heard of too many cats being bitten by snakes and surviving. If it was a snake he sure is one lucky little fella. I understand why people don't like snakes for sure especially if they have had an animal bitten or lost to a snake but i try to remember that is this their home too and they were here before we were. If a snake was about to attack one of my pets would i kill it... Sure I would..

I agree. Sounds like a bottle tick ' paralysis tick'. Without antivenin it would not have survived a snake bite. BUT. Animals can recover from tick paralysis worst is over in three days from tick removal.

True I remember my cousin saying her cat got a tick. She had been away 3 days and came home on a Sunday and it was looking really bad . No vets open out where she lives on a weekend so she pulled the tick off and hoped the cat would make it.. She said by the next morning it was 50% better and in 2 days it was fine again.. Seems cats are much better at recovering from tick bites than other animals. The cat that got the tick was 18 too.
When thor got a tick last year it took him a full two weeks til he was back to normal again.
