Here is a pic of my eggs. The ones in the top carton on the left are from 1st generation olive egger. The ones on the right are from a 3rd generation olive egger

. I love colored eggs. Yesterday a new layer started & her egg is white. My daughter came running in and asked if I had put a "grocery store" egg out there

Lol that's funny outpost, "grocery store" eggs here are cream to brown in colour. Honestly before I started looking into chickens I didn't think chooks laid white eggs!

God im impatient, 12 hours till I can go pick up my new chookies!!!! It's too long.
I settled my remaining 3 bantams into the bigger tractor in the front yard this afternoon so I can put the new chooks in the enclosed coop for quarantine. Can't wait to have my new permanent coop built (
(Sorry to ramble , my husband is sick of talking chook lol)

. I get my new roo tomorrow. I still have work to do to our quarantine pen. I have no empty cages, so that is not an option.

My quarantine pen is an old dog kennel that was given to me , with a 2m wire run. I have a lovely new silver laced Wyandotte roo in there now. His quarantine time is almost up.
Our hay was cut yesterday so it looks like we will be bringing in hay today in the heat. :/

Our hay was cut yesterday so it looks like we will be bringing in hay today in the heat.

How long do you quarantine for? 30 days? Mine is just a bunch of old wooden skids put together & covered in camouflage material. Then I have an old swing frame made into a make shift coop area for them. The winds blew down the swing/coop area. I have not had any new ones added to the flock since July.

Heat sounds good, but not working in hay. We have been cutting firewood. It is 36F or 2C here. I cant wait until spring
