Where would I find medicinal grade honey?  I have honey but mine is used for cooking and I stick so many things in that jar I don't trust its cleanliness.

How's the patient today ? I've used straight honey and wouldn't recommend it. It's sticky, attracts flies and makes cleaning the wound very difficult . The medical grade honeys are carried in a gel base to help keep the wound moist. Exudate is a normal part of the healing process, but if you have excess then there are new age bandages available to help with that. We've learnt a lot about wound care ( an unfortunate fact of life , with horses ) and are very fortunate to have the help of a friend , that is a well respected wound care professional . Where as in the old days we used to get the dressings off and ' dry ' the wound out, the science is now to keep the wound moist until new skin has covered it, hence preventing ' proud ' flesh , cracking and drying out of the new covering. :)

Little grey belg seems back to her normal self. She must have been just having an off day. Yesterday got to 42C and she did not spend all day near the waterer but happily free ranging with the others.

God I can't catch a break!! One of my bantams has disappeared. One of my dogs is Houdini reincarnated (aptly named Loki) he got out and tried to round up the bantams who were free ranging in the front yard, I went out side to find the araucana and pekin on the porch but the black one gone. No feathers so I don't think he's killed it but the yard isn't fenced so it could be anywhere! Down to 5 chooks now so looks like I will be getting those new ones after all

It could be hiding out. I have had that happen when they get scared before.

That's good news . Hope things are cooler for you today. It was only 14 here yesterday and we've had so much rain , I tried to plant a rose that I got for Xmas. The hole filled up with water. The sun is out today. :)
