best of luck to you on your bird....I had a bird that wouldn't open her eyes at all no swollen eyes or anything but I gave the birds wormer and corid...and within a day she was eating and drinking by herself and now she is back out to the flock...hope the best for the bird...nobody wants to see anything bad happen to our lovely birds...let us know what happens and what you use for treatment...you can ask Kathy on here she is great with birds and medicines....

From what I've read , the symptoms don't point to coccocidiosis or worms.

Thankyou for the antibiotic cream recommendation, I appreciate it. The spray seems to have worked as while she is not thrilled with life, the eye is open again. However, that kind of injury seems like it might happen again with her, so I'm going to make sure I can get the cream locally. I'd rather use it if it happens again.

She was given a little meat to eat and some treats, and is perked up again now, just seems a bit irritated by her bright purple head.

Clorsig is something we always have, my partner has an immune compromised eye, poor guy. It works a treat on him, as he tends to go blind in one eye when he gets a cold.

Wow, those quail are amazing I was contemplating trying to catch some wild quail near my house (Brown quail or stubble quail). I was just curious does Anyone on this thread have rosecombs? Been trying to find someone else in aus with them besides me!
