Welcome, newcomers!
Tandykins, you are doing a great job, don't let the haters get you down.
I popped into work yesterday before the term starts, and the last of our Isas died over the holidays. Not a bad run...I think she was nearly 4. As to the other chooks, the last four have all been inherited by a student who keeps getting chicks that surprisingly get too big for her Kings Cross balcony. One of them is particularly attractive, and I wouldn't be surprised if she is a he...lots of gorgeous, blue/black droopy tail feathers and a biggish comb. Nobody has hard any crowing yet, so I think the plan is to wait, plead ignorance if someone complains and if it is, indeed a He, rehome him! (hopefully)
I'll try to get some photos next week, as I'd really like to know what one of the ladies' breed is...she's quite unusual looking.
Our school had a rooster before someone stole all the chickens (twice!). Nobody complained. Even if it is I'd just keep it as long as he is safe round the kids or till an actual complaint came
