Good morning folks

So, the plan was to mow the lawns on Saturday and after much hinting to hubby that I was mowing on Saturday, I got out of the shower to find him parked under the gazebo working, the cats in their run and the gals on free range … mowing deferred to Sunday

I really enjoyed reading the stories you all shared with regards our wonderful and compassionate animal friends.

Good to hear that she seems to be doing OK except for her dirt fetish .. I also think the jumper will be a good idea.

We had an opportunistic Stork hoping to sneak a Goldfish breakfast yesterday morning but once again, Cilla saved the day by raising the alarm and when the Stork thought it might sit on next door’s roof and wait for me to leave, a Crow, a couple of Butcherbirds and a couple of Mynas persuaded him that there were probably more peaceful pickings elsewhere.

Sidhe13 that is great news that your flock has relaxed.

satay congrats on not having to buy eggs this week. With the couple of left over shop bought eggs I have, plus Dusty’s contribution, looks like I will have enough for their scrambled egg breakfast tomorrow, so looks like I will get away from having to buy some also.

On the subject of Bogans .. I have got half way to work and realised I still have my slippers on and no shoes in the car .. back home I go!

I actually did see a grown woman in Woolworths the other evening in PJ’s, Dressing Gown and Slippers .. must have been a munchie attack

News from Bambrook Bantams:

After mowing the lawns yesterday and letting everyone out for a free range, I removed the dividers and turned the coops and runs back into one!!

Cilla, Crystal and KiKi have always gone to bed about 10 mins before the Aunties and last night was no different except that, of all nights, Crystal seemed to be having trouble jumping onto the roost and found herself alone in the middle of the Aunties who were preparing for bed. She got some dirty looks and threats of a peck but no actual pecking and all ended well with her finding her Mum and Sister and settling down for the night.

The big test was this morning, I was awake before dawn, laying there listening for any angst and not a peep out of them. When I went out to give them breakfast, some were on the ground, some were on perches, no fighting, no pecking, all quite happy

I still put in two lots of breakfast in the same spots they used to go and that went well, mum and bubs in one corner, Aunties in the other.

I have heard a couple of complaints, one was either Blondie or LuLu being warned by Cilla and another was obviously Crystal being warned by one of the Aunties … I know it was Crystal because she barks like a baby seal!!

Because of the holiday today, they will be able to spend the majority of it free ranging again.

All in all, it has gone so much better than I thought. No real dramas, no significant agro and no one has been hurt. After three and half months and lots of time and patience I once again have one flock

You truly know that you have reached ' bogan ' status when you start wearing your PJs , or even worse a ' onesie ' to the supermarket. I've seen both atrocities here.
Went to vinnies yesterday looking for dog blankets and found a new pair of gumboots. :)

My mum works in fish and chip shop and apparently it's common for people to turn up for orders in the pjs.

They don't quite look frizzle, my frizzles had more of a turned up curve at the end where those almost look like they have a wrinkle along the feather?

I agree with appps . They don't looks frizzled. Frizzled feather turn upwards at that age. I wonder if there is some silky in there maybe ?:idunno The left picture looks like my rir's when little but the right looks different.

That's great news. Marans can be known to have leg issues but sometimes it can be caused by to hot a temp in the incubator. Do you have any pictures of your new babies?
