Yep, accept now you wont get to eat LOL

And practice, practice, practice your low light photography.  Receptions are the hardest part to photograph because they turn all the lights down to "Set the mood" and it means you need flash of some sort to get decent photos
!!! I did some for a friend a year ago and messed up a few in the darkness of the hall.

to all ....

Hope I can keep up with the posts here .... !!

Appps .... all those photographs are fantastic. Especially loved the rear view of the bride's gown. That was absolutely glorious.

Have a family member who's mother paid an absolute fortune for daughters wedding frock. ( just a fraction below 5 figures !!

. ) .... They paid for the 'name' of the designers - who do a lot for AFL and Cricket awards, Logies presentations etc., --- the Red Carpet stuff. And I think they saw lots of $$$$ in the wind, by making so many adjustments. Mind you, brides gain and lose weight before their weddings, so adjustments are normal, I guess. But this was off the planet - and while it was a nice dress worn by a really beautiful young woman - it left much to be desired in the long run. Gotta be careful of every cost to do with weddings these days. !! Sad, but true.

......

IamSamSam ..... the tabasco idea sounds good. Doggie has to learn - the hard way, methinks.

........

Teila .... those fluffy butt pics are adorable. Weird as it may sound, I just love to see the rear ends of my 3 girls ... they are so soft and vulnerable looking. Although the pecky end is not too vulnerable.

So you got rid of the crows ( with help of the magpies I suspect ) .... and now you are out there looking skywards for hawks and other raptor predators. I do feel for you. It seems to be worse late winter - when they breed more often ( although raptors can breed any time of the year so I have read on-line ) .... and when trees are bare, I think it would be more dangerous to chooks and little chickens. Raptors have a clearer look at things then. Just a note of warning - meantime, if your girls can hide and have plenty of undergrowth to do so, there is probably not a lot to worry about .... but would still keep a keen eye out, just the same.

The wild birds are the very best at giving warnings of predators. If there is no sound from wild birds - be extra cautious - lock up your chickens if you think it necessary, although chickens also know when there is a predator about in the daytime. My girls look skywards, and then make a run for their coop, to be not seen again until the danger is past ( usually with the help of a cheeky pee-wee or wattle bird who chase the predators - I so admire their courage ).

Congrats to all who have successfully hatched new bubs. Have been rather remiss in my 'gratz' to all the new Mums and Dads of gorgeous wee chicks.

..............

This thread takes a bit of keeping up with ya know - especially for an old chook like me. !!! I have to take a sabbatical in the near future, and have no idea how I am going to keep up with everything here, when I do. !!

This one was a real nightmare because the bridal waltz took place in the dark on a lawn. It was so dark my camera didn't even register them without all the flashes I had set up. So another piece of advice would be ask for the reception plan of events so you don't get caught by surprise!

Have had a lot of trouble with the last post. Shockwave crashing again ... and reverting to a different format ( html ) .... which got rid of much of what I had typed initially. Finally got it sorted, but with huge gaps between comments. !!

Does anyone else have this problem - with Shockwave crashing and having to be reloaded ?

Grrrrrr .......

I use the app on either my iphone or iPad too. I feel for you though, I hate it when you get a response typed and then loose it.

I had a lot of problems till I started using google chrome. What browser are you using? Safari seemed to have a real problem with the site and others had the same issue when I asked about it. Since changing to chrome all my problems have gone away.

Good morning friends

Fizzybelle I have to get out to Heritage Hens some time, just for a peek; but I believe the temptation would be too great.

Hey Anniebee I did not technically get rid of the Crows, they are still here, cawing up a storm every morning. However, they no longer risk landing in the back garden .. go Dusty the Crow basher extraordinaire

We do have lots of places the girls can hide and yep, the Mango Tree and the other large tree [not sure what it is] are thick with leaves. At the first sign of danger they usually head for the gazebo covered deck where the hoomans are. Most of the garden is well covered and the small lawn area is really the only danger zone.

I use Google Chrome with Windows 7 Professional and have never had any issues. But, as mentioned before, I type my responses in Word and then copy and paste the reply in one go.
