Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Is there a thread on the forum for support when you are starting to look at cute little Belgian D'Uccles available for sale?  I need a sponsor or someone to talk me down.... LOL

I went to buy one Millie to go with my little blue/grey d'uccle - I came back with three and a silkie d'uccle cross. Now that's chicken math! So I think you'd be in trouble with my support.

hi guys, thank you for the warm welcome. Apologies for my delayed reply - I am very slack/busy at these things. Satay - thank you for the information re: crossing the Birchen and Wheaton Marans. Fancy - here's a picture of my speckle, her name is Speckles and the RIR is Rosie. PS. the flock just grew by another 2 WMs which I just could not resist. (don't tell my husband though, he hasn't noticed them yet)
Nice. Any pics of the WHeatons? Love pics.

Oh, I know full well everyone in here is an enabler, and here's where I saw the little blighters and found out their name. I just thought there might be a "chicken-adopter's anonymous" thread or something. A vain hope, I'm thinking. LOL

Sorry Anni I use my iPhone !

I use the app on either my iphone or iPad too. I feel for you though, I hate it when you get a response typed and then loose it.

I had a lot of problems till I started using google chrome. What browser are you using? Safari seemed to have a real problem with the site and others had the same issue when I asked about it. Since changing to chrome all my problems have gone away.

Satay said : I use chrome as well , never had a problem so far.

Teila said : I use Google Chrome with Windows 7 Professional and have never had any issues. But, as mentioned before, I type my responses in Word and then copy and paste the reply in one go.

........... Miracles DO happen. !!

Thing is, I use my PC only for reading and posts to BYC .... and my browser on the PC is Google Chrome. ? I never use my phone ( it's for emergencies and texts at $20.00 per month !! ) and I use my iPad for checking Gmail and Facebook ( and playing a few games ) which is covered by my ISP through the Wifi thingy and allowable data download. I do not use Safari on there, as it has caused countless problems on the iPad. I kind of get around it all, being sneaky - opening what is already available and going from there ( Google ) .

I rather think it is time my PC went to the technician. Very soon. It has another couple of issues, not serious or too troublesome, but not right either. But they seem to have nothing to do with Google Chrome or my access to BYC.

Google Chrome 'updates' a variety of software - e.g. Java, Shockwave, Flash etc., but I am never too sure about all that. Java and others etc. bib in for updates direct to my computer, which I cannot then do because Google Chrome has already done it. On checking the update status, it always shows as 'up to date' ????

I dunno --- sometimes this technology bizzo does my head in.

Think I might be away from here for a short while - don't know how long it will take for my PC to be checked, and maybe even a change in system for me ? (

) which I don't think I will like too much at all. !!!

Thanks anyway all ...

And cheers ..... ,,

AB can I suggest you just try to download the BYC App - free in the App Store onto your iPad. It won't use much of your data as it is a mobile site. You can always uninstall it if you're not happy with it. It just might get you through the time your PC is with the techs.

Anniebee the issue you are having with Shockwave Flash crashing in Chrome appears to be common. Research indicates “it is related to the way Chrome handles Flash content. While other browsers call upon the Flash installation of the host system, Chrome includes an internal Flash installation. When everything goes smoothly, this isn’t a problem”

There is a article in ‘How to Geek’ on fixing this http://www.howtogeek.com/103292/how-to-fix-shockwave-flash-crashes-in-google-chrome/

Or, you could try using IE or Firefox when logging onto BYC and see if that stops it. MyHaven’s suggestion was a good one also.

FeatherBee I hope you are able to find someone to look after your featheries for a while.

If not, an option could be to contact a Rural Vet, Wildlife Carer, Sanctuary etc in your area; they may agist.

potato chip As you know, no more chickens for me, I have reached critical chicken mass which actually makes me quite the enabler .. if I can not have any more chickens, I can live vicariously through those I have enabled; enjoy the new chicken pictures etc

That's what I have done. I have no access to a PC and I find my iPad so much more convenient.
