Penny seems to go through phases when she lays 3 or 4 before getting back to normal.

I'd just like to announce that I haven't given in to the suggestions of enablers and that I'm not going to look at belgian d'uccles on the weekend.

I so wish I could make all the excuses in the world to add to my flock of 3. Keep thinking about it - but ( for chooks sake ) our coops, runs and back garden are not ready for more. .......... YET.

When, ( if ) the interior painting gets done ( it's chaos in this house at present - entire room contents spread everywhere else ) .... I might tentatively suggest to husband, that he might like to think about a re-arrangement out the back.

Wouldn't DARE mention it at the moment - he is fit to be tied with the problems caused by earthquakes in our area over the past few years ( we live near a fault line ). i.e. the quakes caused massive cracks in the family room ceiling and it was NOT pretty.

Very difficult to deal with, peeling back the deeply cracked paintwork, and stabilising the struts across.

Meantime, I can dream ... !! ( currently dreaming about at least 12 breeds of chicken ---- aarrrggh !! ).
