Layer pellets are too low in protein and too high in calcium for younger birds. Feeds high in calcium leave deposits on the bones and in the organs.
It's always good to enquire about what feed the breeder is using, so you can research it for yourself. :)

I use them on 20l bucket add acv to water helps keep water clean Girls will fight so I have three buckets so the dominant hen can't stop the lowest from drinking otherwise I love them. Set high on bricks and poke the cups through into the pen so you can access the bucket easy

First egg in 3 months after all my girls decided to moult

And what a lovely egg it is. Mine are just coming back into lay too. I met a lady the other day that was going to eat her chickens because they weren't laying anymore. Took me some time to convince her that it was just because they were molting and that they would start laying again. :rolleyes:

Thanks LOL I had the same thing in the school yard not 2 days ago ! It was their first moult
