Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Lots of damage up here in the hills too - and that is just today.   Overnight could be nasty - towards morning.  We have a lot of underground creeks flowing around here, and that causes trees to topple.  Soggy underground, nil root hold.

Hope you can get everything back in good order soon redguinea.  You sure have copped it there in Sth Australia.

Weather is supposed to behave itself toward the weekend.   ( we can but hope !! )

Meantime, here, we batten down the hatches for another go around.

Only power outage here,  was for 2 hours, 24 hours ago.   Having said that ............. ?????????

Cheers - and stay safe all. .....

Its the gums that seem to do the most damage. Hope you have a chainsaw ready for after the bad weather goes through. Lots of firewood for next year! Good luck!

Currently waiting for the onslaught that has been promised. !!   Hope to wake up tomorrow to a lovely covering of snow ( although I won't hold my breath ).   Mt. Dandenong temps for tomorrow are minimum.  1°C to  maximum 5°C with wind chill factor lowering it all, way down below all that.

Chooks will be caged birds again !!   If it hails, I might let the big girls out for a bit of fun for 5 mins, chasing hail stones, ( they so love  hail ) but not if they are large stones.

Cheers ( brrrr ) ......

Omg Anni. I hope you have a good fireplace. Don't forget pics if it snows. I love to see pics of snow just never want to see it in person.

Could he have caught himself between wood slats or garden rocks or something ?   That is very very strange.

Bleeding sounds as though he has been caught somehow, somewhere and ripped off both spurs in freeing himself

.... no amount of trouble animals and birds can get themselves into ......( I have, we all have -  discovered   )

........... AB

Not that i know of anni. Their house is just below the front stairs and he came from there straight up to the front door when i let him out and they were both there in the morning., It's very strange.

Not the best photo but there are no tears and the blood is actually on the inside not the outside as it looks. It really just looks like it fell off. It was right beside where he had been sitting all morning. The mark on the paper is just a reflection.

Wow satay that spur thing is bizarre .. I hope you are able to work out what happened.

As you know, I have no experience with roosters, but is there a chance he accidentally tangled them himself and in his panic to untangle them, pulled them both? [Grabbing at straws here! lol

I've read that Spurs can be shed by the rooster as a natural process? That may be the case here?
On the weather note, it's a sunny 4.5. I've the workmen back levelling my new pen area. The chickens are out for the first time in 2 days.

I hope that's the case. He seems ok today. Staying in his house but no bleeding so I'll have to see how he goes.
