I don't know how all of you who get high temps all the time cope. Where we are I think it got to 44 today I had to bring Bear in he's panting dreadfully, at the moment he's laying on the tiles in front of the aircon. He never had such a hard time of it. But he's 9 in February. The chooks are coping really well, we just keep giving them fresh water at least every hour.![]()

Ohh, poor Bear, hope he's feeling better now. For my chickens I hose down the trees in the shade for them and the grass, or set up a sprinkler. They sleep with a fan at night. I'm keeping a closer eye on them this summer as last summer I had Annabelle get heatstroke that weakened her and lead to her getting a respiratory infection. I hope relief is in sight for you, I don't even want to think about how hot that feels. Was it a dry heat, or humid as well? God, it's not even January yet.
