Fancy ... love your BBS silkies... I want some of those too and Wyandottes..sadly not enough room!

Teila well done re working from home (more Chook time!) and your husband's new job sounds positive...

Crows!!!! Could they hurt my young bantams???

Anyways, I definitely do not trust them with chicks and juvenile bantams .. having seen one of the evil black &*^%’s pin down a Turtle Dove and try and eat him alive, I would not put it past them to try the same on a small chicken.
 
Teila....What an entertaining read! I am in hospital at the moment needed a good laugh ....even though it hurts to do so!!! I'll be watching for crows !!! We did have them ...only 6 but they have gone know since we covet the chicken run!
Aside from that and your story I have a very close has had two separate incidents where crows announced the death of family members...so I am definitely a 'crow hater' ...

My Light Sussex chicks are 5 1/2 weeks old now (they hatched on New Year's Day). This morning I think I heard one trying to crow - you know that try out my vocal chords for the first time sound. Surely they are too young to start crowing yet, aren't they?
