Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Off to have a look at the cost of electric fencing today. All the other neighbours seem to think i would be ok as long as i have it just inside our side of the fence with signs on it.
I love your brooder wooklet. I have 2 one is an old fish tank the other is one of the square containers from crazy clarkes with the clip on lid. We removed the plastic in the lid and have the wire and hit lamp in there.

Thanks,I love it too! I am having the best fun with it!!It all started when I had a 2 ft aquarium as a brooder, and it was so nice to be able to see them all the time that I asked hubby (who is a glazier by trade) if he could put a window in the old broody box and this is the result -  Reckon we should market it!

I can't remember if you have children wooklet but i had to have a giggle when you said what your hubby did for a job. If we got in front of the tv when we were kids mum would always say is your father a glazier. Least your kids could have said yes lol

I do have "kids" - no longer kids! They have kids of their own now!

lol, that's funny what you said ! Funny how someone can say or write something that brings a memory back.

Goose eggs went into lock down yesterday. I am having a bit of trouble keeping the humidity high enough for hatching but it is only out by a few percent so hoping that wont matter too much. Not luck getting an electric fence yet. Am gunna have to try one of the bigger towns next time we are there.

Hi Satay, do you know of anyone that wants a silkie rooster who lives closish by.I dont want my girls bashed up by any boys. The two boys have already started to have knuckles in the pen. I am giving one of them to a friend but dont know anybody else who wants the other one. If you could keep an ear out I would appreciate it.

Hi 13Chooks - welcome!

I live in suburban Melbourne, and don't often post on this website, but often read this Aussie thread - it's very informative, as well as entertaining!

Living inner city, I'm a bit of a weirdo that I have any chooks at all, but we have 2 (the limit in our area). We're moving soon though, and in that area we're allowed to have 6 - so I'm looking forward to some new lay-dees to add to my fiesty little flock!

Cheers!
