Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

If you all remember i hatched some cochins chicks for my cousin earlier in the year. Well a pair is coming back to me this weekend as a thank you for hatching them. She said she ended up with 4 girls and 7 boys. It's going to be fun to see how much they have grown.

Thought I better pop my head in and say Hi.... Had the sweetest little baby hatch today- It was trying to jump out of the brooder as it wanted to be cuddled. So cute... I hate that they grow up so fast.

O.K guys and girls- What are some good laying, nice average breeds of chickens. Ive already got Barred/Plymouth Rocks, Orpingtons, Araucans, EE's, Australorps, White Leghorns, Minorcas, RIR's and Brahmas in mind are there any more or have i got them all.

Cute pictures ducky. I had 2 runners hatch under my muscovey yesterday :) Sorry Sandra had forgotten about the pictures of the others. Will try to get some today but it is raining cats and dogs at the moment. Gotta love the rain. One week to go till the second set of wellies are due to hatch. My 2 broody hens seem to be doing a great job with them.

Brahmas while they look good Luke are not the best layers. Mine average about 3/4 eggs a week. I think you have the main ones covered in your list above unless you want to go bantam pekin.. Those little ladies lay like crazy but do you broody a fair bit too.

Whereabouts in QLD are you satay? Plenty of rain in Beaudesert today, but looks like we've seen the tail end of it....
