Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I am orignally from Brissy but the last 5 and half years we have been living in Esk.(Hubby still works in brissy though) Rain was pretty good 22mm over night Friday, yesterday not as heavy but still good. Haven't checked the gauge this morning yet.

Yeah rain in Coffs Harbour was bad we had friends coming from Melbourne But they had to fly back to Sydney because the plane couldn't land.

Congrats on the new chicks Ash. Distaster has struck on the second set of wellie eggs. I went out yesterday afternoon to check on the new cochins and i noticed the broodies were not on the nest. The eggs were cold. I have put them in the incubator but i think there is not much hope. They only have a week to go and the darn broodies abandon nest :(

The 2 chicks that hatched from the questionable eggs have found new homes. (the ones that look like wellies) A guy who came to buy eggs off me yesterday bought them for his young daughters. So now they have a new home in t'bar.

Hi Guys,

My girls from the "divided" room only have one egg each because I do not need more. Yesterday "Bilbo" hatched, hoping for girl but my nephew chose the name. She is tiny!!!

OH how cute is that chick :) what breed is she? Love the name. Reminds me of when my son was young he got a white guinea pig. He insisted on calling it joba. To this day and he is about to turn 16 we have no idea why joba or where it came from lol

Hi Satay, she is cochin bantam, altho not greatest lines. I don't mind as they are just pets. The other chicks you guys posted made her look like a dwarf! The EE sitting on one egg in same box steals her at any opportunity! I am constantly retrieving her & giving her back to her mum.
On another topic, you have the pet snake don't you Satay? I had a a 2metre scrub python come into my house the other night. I am used to the brown tree snakes coming in and they do not worry me as they will not eat my little dog but the scrubbies certainly will. They usually go and hang around the coop & I catch and relocate them. Anyway I caught her and she completely wrapped both my hands up completely! I was home alone so I am sitting there in snake manacles for about an hour. Finally managed to free one hand and ring my dad who came and untangled me & took her away to let go elsewhere! Even tried dialling phone with pen in my mouth! Funny now but very frustrating at the time!
