hi Elizabeth, I am so glad to find your post. Think about it - I'm thousands of miles from you and I have been thinking of you off and on ALL DAY. I am concerned but after reading your earlier posts I am confident you can handle anything. Take care girl and don't over-do. ((( hugs ))), Donna from the West coast of USA.

I saw the video of the parking lot, in Toowomba, last night..It was, obviously, taken from an office building...My first thought was, Don't they have a PA system, to tell everyone to move their cars.

Are any of these places affected? Victoria/Glenroy/montmorency
Hubby has cousins there..

This was flash flooding. Toowoomba got 154 mm (6.06 inches) in 12 hours and half of that was in and hour. So really people didn't have time to shift their cars. nobody even knew what was happening.
The video of the cars showed the creek rising but after it broke it's banks an 8 meter wall of water went through the streets. it was so fast that it swept away people who were just crossing the street.
One guy did move his car and to me he was extremly stupid, not only did he risk his own life but he risked others as well who might have tried to save him if he got swept away, which he was very lucky not to have been.
I really don't think a car is that important.
The death toll is now at 14 with 70 people missing. I'm sure if everyone ran and tried to save their cars that that number would be a lot higher.

I think Victoria is flooded, not to the extent of Queensland though. But i'm not sure what cities and towns though. I will be sure to let you know when/if I find out anymore information.
