Gotta love it, hey. I'm glad we don't celebrate Christmas. Nobody to buy presents for.

Seven days till Christmas.

That's come around very fast. Wasn't it only yesterday we were calling in 2011? Some of the details from earlier this year are growing fuzzy.

I'm just quickly writing this while on my lunch break.
We are having a hard core day of doing chicken coop stuff.
We've done repairs ( involving me lying on my stomach, in poop, under a coop, I couldn't lift my head it was so squishy, using the nail gun stapling wire to sleepers

I got picked for this job of course for the obvious reason; I'm small

), we've built a bantam coop for the Mille fleurs. It's super cute. And we are chewing through the second coop for the day. not expecting to get this one done though. And I also mowed the big run. Which to me felt like trying to mow up and down stairs. But it's finished now and I'm still alive, so I'm happy.
Back to work now.

For a minute I was confused when you said lunch break, because it somehow feels like it's seven PM here already... I must be tired...

I wish I could post photos from my phone. That would make things so much easier. 90% of the time I'm on BYC it's from my phone. Even though the macs super fast, the phone is faster

. But yeah, I took photos of the new super cute coop but I don't have time just yet to use the computer.
I have also taken before photos of the areas I've/we've been working on. I can't wait till it's all finished, then I can post the before and after photos. I just love before and after photos.

6 days till Christmas.
I am flipping out, I've got so much to do chicken wise before then.

I personally think I don't have ENOUGH to do. Usually we're pretty busy around this time, but there hasn't been a single season party this year! Before and after photos are a blast. Especially photos of myself when I look like an idiot transformed...

Five days till Christmas. I wouldn't mind getting five gold rings today, the price of gold I hear is back on its way up.

Hello. I just joined and this is my first post.
We have the three french hens, and the calling birds, so maybe I should drop a few hints for the gold rings too...though hubby says I have enough all ready.
We have mainly large salmon faverolles, with a couple of light sussex and new hampshires just to make it interesting.....and because I have no self control.
When Christmas is over we can get back to the important stuff of building more housing. The Taj Machook and Chookingham Palace are full and we are geting close to having enough hens to do some serious breeding and do our bit to improve the breed.
I should never have read up on chook genetics! I am still trying to get my head around it so I suppose the only thing is to jump in and have a go.
