And welcome back xxSonja.. I noticed you back posting a while ago after the absence when you moved from the ACT, and now you are about to head up to even warmer weather. Lovely area though- my Dad lives in Cairns.

Nice of you both to drop in and say Hi...gives wooklet a bit of a break from me...

Ducky, I have a very fertile Polish Rooster here, and all the chicks I need - would you like some Polish eggs? I will post pics of the chicks tomorrow, they are all sleeping now,and I bet you'll be smitten! the rest seem to have gone off the lay or not be too reliable for fertility.

Welcome Lavissy

Thanks for the offer wooklet..I will ask my daughter.. I lady I know from an Australian forum has just posted she has silkies and pekins for sale. My daughter jumped out of her chair when I told her- but I think I would rather wait to about FEB next year to buy any. That way I dont have to have to care for them all through the heat of summer. But raising chicks is an entirely different matte. I dont know what she would think of Polish. I will show her some pics of them and see what she thinks. Thanks so much for the offer. Thanks so much for the offer of eggs!! Its so nice of you since I messed up and sent you duck eggs instead of buff silkies...

Don't think I'll ever forget hubbys' face when I took the first egg out of the box!! His jaw nearly hit the floor,

"must have bloody giant silkies!" was the comment!!!!

I'll post the pics of the Polish tomorrow, doesn't matter if your daughter is not taken by them, actually if you wanted to wait until February, some of my Silkies may be on the lay again by then - I'll make sure they are Silkie eggs not Malays or something!!

My daughter says she would love some polish eggs!! She loves Crested birds. You will have to let me know if there is anything special I have to do with them. A friend says they may need to have the feathers clipped if they cant see well.

I am actually sending some more eggs down to Tassie soon too. A lady down there recently hatched some white runners and wants some coloured ones. We have been stalking each others facebook pages to look at all the duckling photos.

I'll start collecting them tomorrow! Won't need to do anything for a few months with the crests, and I'm a lousy hairdresser! You give them a sort of Mohawk!

Thank you... I may be getting some other eggs as well... I will have to see..I really need to sell some of these ducklings. I am almost afraid to set more eggs at the moment. I do have two people who want 5-6 each- but transport is a problem for one- and the other lady is in the middle of moving house.

I have been trying to get a decent picture of the Polish chicks all day,and this is the best I can do! This is a white crested black, and this is just what I want! The crest is going to be pure white with a very small black "hairband",with a bit of luck this little one will be show quality! I have 4 eggs now, but won't be able to post till Monday week,so we'll see what happens over the week, and what transpires with my little friend who is going over to Victoria. I'm getting him to bring me back two black silkies -exciting! I'll keep trying with the photos, these little guys won't stand still, they are hyperactive!

How cute!! I know what you mean about taking photos. I am so glad someone invented Digital cameras. I would hate to have to pay for so many bad ones that I take.

No rush with the eggs..I still have my double yolker in there at the moment- so my main focus is that egg at the moment.

You are lucky to have someone to pick up birds for you. I am assuming your friend is travelling on the boat?? It would be easier to load up a car and go back and forth than to fly them all.

Yes, he's travelling on the boat. Leaving Tassie Friday night, going to Wonthaggi Saturday to pick up 15 Game birds, staying Wonthaggi Sat night and returning to Tassie Sunday night. As they only have a small car they can only bring me back 2 black silkies, but that will work in my favour, because I can spend my pennies on 2 top quality birds rather than 3-4 backyarders! They're coming from Suburban Chooks in Noble Park - do you know of them? If so are they o.k.?Always helps to ask questions!
