Australians - Where are you all????

I would be worried if we hadn't had so much rain the past couple of months. It's when the tree's don't get enough water that their branches become brittle, then if it rains or the wind picks up the stress on the weak limb causes it to fall.

I use to work in bush crew, if it rained or was too windy we got to sit in the car all day watching movies and still get paid. Too dangerous being out amongst the trees in thick scrub! Half the time on those days they'd let us go home at lunch time too!

Sounds like an awesome job! I might consider that when I graduate to earn me a bit of money

We've had lots of tree falls around these parts. They fence off trees in the parks and sometimes even roads are blocked as they try clear the offending limbs away.

Again?! I thought the cloud was packing up and going home! Oh, poo. That sucks

By the way, I'm going to Melbourne for a few days towards the end of August... anything you recommend I see while I'm there?

Its tomorrow I go wooklet...well thats the plan- but I am still thinking of some excuse to stop me being able to go. My supervisor told me of a possible trip over to South Astraila to a mine site- Now that I wouldnt mind at all. At least that would be very interesting. Its very windy here tonight. I wouldnt even mind if the roof blew off tonight if it meant I could stay home tomorrow.... well maybe just a corner and not the whole thing

Naughty Harry. I guess he was just doing what comes naturally though. I can remember a few panicked times I have chased the ducks into the shed during a storm- at the time its not fun- but after I can always sit back and laugh at it while I drip all over the floor.

The ash cloud is back. They're cancelling flights into and out of here.

Never thought the ash cloud would float northwards, it's been hanging around in the south for a long time now!
