Australorp from Tractor Supply Truly an Australorp?

I just bought 6 australorp chicks but they look like this:

The Australopes are Barred Rocks. Farm and Fleet had a few in wrong brooders when I got my second Barred and gold lace Wyandotte. My Australopes looked like penguins at first, now nearly all black at about 6 weeks. The Barreds have bigger white bars if male so they are lighter. Barred Rocks are fast becoming my favorites, mine are both lap chickens.

This happened to me as well (as you can see in my picture icon)! I knew nothing about chickens and when I went to the seed and feed store (because they had Australorps...) one of my two ended up being a barred rock. I love her now and wouldn't trade her for anything but with how docile my Australorp is I wish I had two. She is on the bottom of the pecking order. Thankfully she isn't really picked on too much. But now I know, thanks to this group, to look out for the notorious white spot an a chicks head. I just though they were black and white with their spots in different places! :idunno

Hi, everyone! I am a total newbie and purchased two chickens from Tractor Supply on April 1. One was supposedly an Isa Brown pullet and one was an Australorp pullet.

From what I've seen elsewhere, I believe the Isa Brown is correct, but getting some other breed vibes from the "Australorp."

Could you confirm the breeds and sexes of these two chickens? Let me know if you need any other information; thank you!

Isa Brown - 7 Weeks - Pullet

Bonus Image - My friend also purchased two of the Australorps with me, and these are what his look like (two on the left). One is much whiter than the other.

Your pullet and your friend’s cockerel is a Dominique. I can’t see the comb of your friend’s pullet, but she’s likely a Dominique as well.

Sorry, I know this a really old thread, but can you give more details on the white spot you mentioned? I haven't heard of this yet and want to keep an eye out. :)

Thanks!
