In the Brooder
Will do! I will have to wait until she roost because I cannot catch otherwise lol!I would keep an eye on the sore/ulcer on the outside of the vent. With your warm temperatures any type of wound can turn into FlyStrike quickly. This is where flies will lay eggs on a wound, dirty vent, etc. Maggots can hatch out in as little as 24hrs in your heat, they begin to "feed" on the wound. This can be deadly to a chicken if not caught quickly.
Not trying to scare you, just inspect her frequently. There are always several "cases" of FlyStrike each year here on BYC.
You may want to put a little triple antibiotic ointment on the sore.
I believe Flubenvet or Levamisole may be available to you for deworming, ask your feed store what they have. I'm not sure if you have to have a script in AU or not.
