Your cockerel looks real good. Long back, good tail angle, nice comb and wattles, just needs to fill out more.
Ron,For BAs, it is vent sexing only. None of the feather sexing works for them.
They are not on the list as sexable that way and those trying it on here have never been able to get results better than chance.
I certainly wouldn't use that hen in a breeding program...na,an,na!!!
Here are our eggs for this week (7 days.) notice the BA eggs on right, going up around the back. 14/14. Two hens, a nice egg each day.![]()

The secondary feathers is what you're suppose to look at. Rooster's secondary feathers spread apart and connect to the primary feathers while on a hen the secondary feathers stay together and leave a gap between the secondary and primary feathers. For the comb and wattle I was showing how my rooster's comb and wattle were still more pale than my pullets. I've heard people on other forms say that roosters will have a red comb by the time they are 2 months old. I'm just trying to prove that it's best to use more than one method and there is more than just one method when sexing chickens. I know the saddle and hackle feathers are dead giveaways on my rooster.Ron,
You are correct, vent sexing only for BA's.
I have no idea what we were suppose to see in the wing pictures above or comparing a 5 month old pullet with a 2 month old cockerel, apparently i missed something.
