Thank you for the kind words on my line. You both have to give yourself credit for raising and proper care or they would have never got that nice.
I have the BBS twins to Big Rons cockerels that I saved for myself. Do I hear road trip, anyone?

Kurt, are you going to be making a road trip out this way to get away from that Hurricane? No hurricanes over here, and daytime temps are now finally down in the 80's. It feels good now.

bruceha, my Gary here is a Vermont transplant from Burlington. We were up that way about 6 years ago for a HS reunion he wanted to go to.

And I am a transplant (1979) from just south of Los Angeles

I ran from the heat and overpopulation. I don't know how much hotter it might be nearly 40 years later but since most of my family is there and I visit, I know the overpopulation then has be eclipsed by the overpopulation now! Like 50% more people.

I know what you mean. It seems some move up north to get out of the heat, while others move down south to get away from the cold. Most of those who do move south seem to for the most part to focus on either Florida or California.

Pepper is our first hen to lay, and since her first egg last week she has laid for us every day. Needless to say she is getting lot's of love! Now if her "sisters" would join in!

My blue cockerel has started getting some brown feathering on its saddle feathers. Will these turn black after most or should i look for a new rooster? I would wait and see... they sometimes have other colors till they mature
