I also have a couple birds from the judge Bob Gilbert. They are nice birds as well, and I have two males in the breeding pen from them.
Bob is hatching me a load of chicks! I was happy to find such a Great Aussie person so close to me. Bob has been Great to deal with and very helpful in getting me started!

Uncle Bob has good birds. I sent some eggs, and he kept one cockerel to hopefully breed from this season. I kept two cockerels of his chicks he sent me and I've hatched 20 this far. He came and judged one of our youth shows a month or so ago. Glad he's helping you out!

Yeah! He told me he was in CA judging not long ago. I think he is also getting some eggs from Sherman to hatch and work into his line which actually goes back to Kirk Keene's Aussies, so does Doug Akers.
I hope he will mentor me a bit until I get the hang of it. I have learned a lot just reading this entire thread. I have learned a lot just from looking at pics and reading the comments on them. Hopefully in the coming months I can post some pics of my own.

Changing the Subject a bit. I have read on some Breed threads where they talk about feeding a 30% protein Game Bird starter to chicks for better growth and the animal protein. Is that a good Idea for BA's?

I got the BOB Ron!

As I read this thread I took notes just like I was studying for a test. I am sure there were things I missed but it is amazing how many times I go back through those notes to remind me of something I know I read.

Zach, I love the pictures you have posted of your Aussies! Nice!!

Kurt..try to get some pictures for you this week..we are at that magic moment where think........is that a pullet or cockeral..

Yep,
Been there done that. I don't even attempt to try anymore until 4 to 7 weeks to be sure. More like 6 to 7 to be pretty sure. My latest problem has been trying to sex my wives EE with those pea combs. That is a real task might take me 8 to 10 weeks!!!

Congrats Ron! Those are great looking chicks for sure. You must be so pleased. All my best to you and your chicks. ~Dee~
The Egg form Hupp hatched! I have 7 little BAs
