here are some of our newest editions that we hatched on the 17 of November.
these are a test run of a new breeding pen. hope the pic came out:/
glad to see more BA's hatching across the nation, more folks that might want to swap hatching eggs!

don't let your flock grow stale, bring in new lines to enhance your own.
hatchery birds are fine, but quality bred birds are finer!

i have not yet hatched a splash australorp, sure would love to see one!
once we have established several blue breeding pens, the splash are top on the list to breed with our blacks.
we have been working on breeding out the orpington traits from our current blues so as to have birds that will conform to the standard of perfection in body plumage, shape and weight. the lacing is very important also in the blues.
good things come to those who push forward and make things happen:jumpy

This is Chato, our best Blue Australorp to date, he will be very busy once the days get longer, the air is warmer and the girls are willing.
we have hatched many blue males and the trick is to be patient, wait for maturity, see what you need in a breeding pen. dont just breed any old bird thats randy, be picky and always breed for the highest quality, remember : your name and reputation are at stake, your birds do the talking for you!

My roo Jet that is posted above has little brown-ish feather's coming in under some parts of his black feathers. I really wanted to breed him and show him. Do you think the brown feathers will go away? If they dont if I breed him will it mess up the color for the BA chicks?vThanks
