Australorps breed Thread

It is hard enough to breed a decent black australorp to the SOP, let alone a decent blue, or splash that are not even accepted by the APA as of yet. Good luck with what people are calling a self blue or lavender australorp because that definition has changed depending on who you ask. Like Ron said if would be very tough to do right. It would require just the right pair, a lot of culling, a lot of time, not to mention the facilities. In the end would they breed true and be uniform in confirmation to be worth the effort?

Exactly!

That is one of the problems with all of the different colors of Orpingtons.

There used to be a lot of Dorking color types too. No one has them any more. I think they had a cuckoo at one time even.

It finally let me upload something. That was her bumping the bus salmon faverolles out of the way, so she could see the flash. She looks so beautiful in the sun, but I do not have any pics of her outside.
