Australorps breed Thread

The girls are 8 weeks old, it has finally stopped raining and they're finally outside birds permanently! My guest bathroom thanks me dearly hahaha

Comparing against other people's photos, it looks like I lucked out and got all pullets but what do you all think? Their combs pretty much all look the same, one has slightly more red to the sides, on her head more so than the comb. Ill be so thrilled if I don't have to rehome/cull a roo from these gals, they're so very sweet and affectionate. Whenever I go outside, they run right to the door and climb into my lap to snuggle and get pets. Such sweeties!

OOOOOOPS......I think I see two that might be looking for a new home! Just kidding...I can't tell at this size or age.

Australorps are great chickens! Mine are the hardiest of all. I actually have a "pet" australorp hen. When I put her in with a few other pullets and the rooster, (to be a grown up) she took one look at all the other chickens and jumped right in my arms! Needless to say, she is a pet now. Guess we are stuck with her, lol!

I saw a comment someone made regarding "self-blue." I'm curious what that is... And can an Australorp be "self-blue?" I have yet to do any Googling.

Edit to add: It's Lavender! My last question still stands, though. Is it possible to get a self-blue/lavender Aussie??
