Dorking, Faverolle, Houdan and Sultans all have five toes.Would you say its an Australorps/Silkie cross? Or do they look more like a black copper marans? I keep going back and forth.

Put all but one of my boys in the freezer today. Well, in the fridge. They're resting before going into the artic wonderland. It was a good experience for John, he's finally getting the hang of things! Cleared up plenty of roost space, too. The grower coop hasn't been that empty in a year.
I left my biggest boy. Hoping he turns out decent. If not, I know where a back up plan is.Mrs.B... I'll give him another month or so and weigh him again. He's still small, just tall and awkward. He's a full four inches taller than the hens and pullets.![]()
I was cleaning the baby pens...and I have more roosters for the freezer in a few months. Is it the year of the rooster or something? I'm having no luck getting pullets. Going to be ordering more from fireman when my incubator clears out.
hey im looking for old litature and books on the background of the austrolorps any iddeas or help out there?
We know.I hope you folks realize I was just having fun a few day ago. Many of you know that I try to keep a lively if somewhat silly air to most of my posts but folks who are new to the thread might just think I be an arse. just love to keep things light...

thats a good book we going to have a few austrolorp people get together at the highland ill show on nov 7 this year love to have ya thereJohn,
Much of the historic data floating the web regarding Australorps is false. I've been researching via old newspaper archives for the last few weeks, and I am very close to documenting a very clear and accurate history of the breed, both in the U.S. and abroad. Until I am able to publish, I recommend Ray Connor's book, available from Australorps.com
