These two pictures clearly show the difference in feathers


My rooster has lots of pointy feathers around his neck and just behind his wings.


And you can see on my hen that all the feathers have nice round ends on them

Those are good pics! I have still had trouble sometimes because especially with the penciling on some birds the hen feathers can look pointy to me. But what helps me as well is that the rooster feathers are much more slender, maybe 1/2 the width of the hen feathers. That seems to be easier for me to spot, maybe it will help you too!

I'm waiting to see that, my little black ones are only a few weeks old, looking forward to seeing that sheen

Where are you located? somebody might know of a breeder near you.

I couldn't get any close to me so had to buy eggs and have them posted to me and then hatch them. It's a bit hit and miss though as they are not always gentle with them through the post so you get less hatch.

And yes they all lay the same.
