Australorps breed Thread

WV Gal,
I live outside of Martinsburg in the Eastern Panhandle. I visit fayette county about every other month because I have a lot of friends in Oak Hill, Lansing, Beckley, Hico, Charlton Heights, and Fayetteville. Back to chicken talk.

Sorry y'all about the pics, the little piglets wanted to eat or run away, but at least you can see the blue lacing, and the splashes that I have been working on with the blacks.
Kurt
They look very nice!

It's very hard to get good pictures of them. They are too busy foraging. The only thing that stops them is the potential for a treat.

This group was getting their dust bath on, and were not about to do any flattering poses for pictures. No, the rooster does not have white feathers.

[T]Well I posted my pictures As I said before twork have red ears and the one has white. They all lay brown eggs and everything else is identical. I always thought they were the same. Their new [hinges is every time they hear sirens they all start growling at the same time like they are trying to sound the same. When that happens my "chicken dog" Labrador Hannah runs and hides in her house./B]

I was out with my Australorps (14) and I noticed that at least 1 had white ears... I thought they were all really red this summer.... I also noticed that their combs aren't as red as they used to be...Is that because we've been cold? They are laying good, today we 10 eggs.... I counted a couple that probably aren't laying yet.... they've started laying really late.... I'm very glad I found this thread...Rae

Definatly not an australorp thing those white ears. Unfortunately I don't know enough about white eared breeds to be able to tell from the photo if she is a mix or actually just a different breed.
