I still haven't named my new BA hen. I'm either thinking of Blacky or Big Momma. Is there any one who would like to help me name her? Need some suggestions on some names.

Hello All
Does anyone have a clue what might be wrong with my BA hen?
One of four of my pullets or hens from my show line of BAs laid an egg in the lawn yesterday and surrounding it was a pile of what looked to be egg white (I did not see yolk). Late afternoon, a hen (2011) went into a small enclosure and stayed there till I put her up after dark. This morning she was moving slowly and went back into the enclosure without eating or drinking. I took her out briefly to observe her and she definitely is not well, not fluffed up, but slouching with tail down a bit and looking flat-backed. I'm only guessing she's the one that laid the egg in question, but that could also just be a coincidence. I'm starting her on antibiotics and will force feed her a slurry of layer feed/kefir/water. If she's not well in a couple of days, I doubt she'll make it. Has anyone had a similar incident?

Thanks Deborah!Dan I am not a OT ..but it sounds to me like she may have a broken egg shell or blockage of some kind ..inside
It sure sounds like there is something wrong in there .
I wouldnt say Gleet as they still act pretty normal when they have gleet .
They just have this pasty butt thing that smells ...& it looks icky .
I hope she gets better . Deborah
Craziness for the day. I watched a two week old chick eat a chinese stink bug and die within an hour!!! On the other hand I had a WR hen who loved them, and a RIR hen who loved those long stick bugs. Coincidence or are they deadly?
