Australorps breed Thread

Ha! I'm reading all of these and wondering what batch I got my husband from! He is the FIRST one to tell people about our chickens and works it in to just about every conversation we have with new people. I'm guilty of the same, but it's really, really nice to have an ally in chicken-keeping. :)

I'm lucky like you! My hubby wasn't into chickens at all when I started this, but now he's now talking chicken with our employees, our customers...he ever sees chickens in the clouds. And every single day he asks, "Did we get our first egg yet?". He's not as obsessed as I am, but at least he has a healthy appreciation. I guess you and I are the lucky ones, Mrs B.

On the other hand, my son is really ready for me to shut up about chickens, but he's a teenager. What do they know?

I am almost 15 and my dad didn't like chickens at all. And then a week ago he said "let's get chicks" and we are all like "what's wrong with you?"! So we are getting chicks in three days

Hello I am planning on getting Australorps as laying hens. I love the green sheen that they have. This thread has such pretty birds on it. I am excited to learn more about Australorps and have fun while doing it. Also listening to these awesome and sad stories you have to share.

Somebody I know has some Australorps and they are absolutely precious. They were so sweet and pretty. I love the green sheen that Australorps have. It makes them look so pretty.
