Australorps breed Thread

Woohoo! I think one of my Aussie girls is finally laying! The daily egg I had been getting from my Barred Rock had a "friend" yesterday, and I'm pretty sure it's from one of the Aussies. It's a paler, creamy tan color rather than "peachy" like my BR eggs. I was so tickled to see that second egg that I wanted to go around and hug all my birds...but this flock really isn't a flock of "huggers" so I just gave them some fresh greens from my garden instead.

LOL! I do that too! I know they don't understand me, but it just seems rude to me not to thank them.

I think lots of folks express their appreciation to the ladies however I frequently use language that would be bleeped in a triple XXX motion picture, the birds seem to appreciate the sound of the words and their actual meaning bothers them not because I say it with LOVE.

As noted...the hens neither know nor care what I say or how I day it, so long as they are treated like feathered royalty. It's my guess that they are fed and cared for...as well as any and better than most.

I will certainly be 'classy' around all women and children and most men...but my livestock love me....JUST THE WAY I AM.
