Then you have a special hubby ...my husband & son hate roosters crowing..
I kind of like it ...My Aussie roo crows when the hens are where they are not supposed to be .
( like across the road )

Hello, everyone I've not posted in awhile but have been reading a lot as I learn about the Australorp chickens. Right now I have 6 black Australorp girls and would like to add 4 more girls, prefer the blues, so I was wondering if anyone in Indiana has chicks for sale? If so could you message me?

Thanks for the welcome and at the moment I'm not setup for hatching eggs as I'm just getting started in the chicken world but hope to be setup for them one day soon. :)
I also didn't know that they were really rare, I've seen some pictures online and just thought they would be some beautiful hens to add to my lil flock. Maybe one day I can get a blue roo to cross on my girls if nothing else. :)

I could not find Black Australorps in southern Virginia, so I placed an order for 10 pullets (day old) from MT.Healthy Hatcheries in Ohio, they were shipped on the 15th and arrived on the 16th in what appears to be very good, healthy condition. My order was for the minimum of 10 but I received 11, they have a minimum vaccine /service fee of $5 so I assumed they tossed in the extra chick for the extra $3.50 the vaccine service cost on 10 chicks. I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with this hatchery.
The chicks are now 4 days old and every one of them appear to be in the best of health, I am in no way associated or affiliated with this hatchery, my experience with them was fantastic.
