Australorps breed Thread

well honestly he's quite the fast maturing roo im no chicken expert by anymeans but i spent a lot of time with my pets and this crazy roo ive seen him since 10 weeks got on top of my sussex grabs her head with his beaks and mounts her the poor thing screams and then shakes herself he first started tryng to crow at 6 weeks sounded really weird

i think i even asked if that was normal behaviour because me and my hubby were freaked out o and he gets on top of my leghorn roo and does his thing i mean everything exactly as if mating him and the the leghorn shakes himself too afterwards

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to add a bunch of australorps to my flock of 6 month old dominiques (with a dom rooster), and I want to know if these two breeds would function well together in one flock. I would assume so since they are both fairly docile (of course I cant speak for the lorps since I've never owned any). What do you all think?

They should do perfectly fine.

I have 2 Domq and 3 BA's the domq's are old and don't lay any more. They BA's are a lot bigger than them and pick on them some. But I got 3 more BA pullets and they tried it too. But the Domqu wouldn't have it from them cause there the same size for now. But for the most part they really get along good.
