Hi All,

I'm a newbie with my first flock of: 2 b australorps, 2 RIR, 2 GLW, 2 SLW, and 2 Buff orpingtons. They are aged from 6-8 weeks. I know next to nothing, but my 2 australorps seem to have very different comb areas. One has a very small single comb starting like the RIR & buffs, and the other has a low kind of triangular one like the 4 wyandottes. They are all supposed to be girlies. Is this a male/female thing or what? Any help would be great. I'm posting pics soon on all to make sure on genders. Thanks

They could be a cross or one could be a Black Australorp and the other might be a Black Orpington...
What color are the bottom of there feet?
Do you have pics. of them?

Chris

I read in The encyclopedia of historic and endangered livestock and poultry breeds that Orpingtons can have both single and rose comb varieties, so who knows. I'll post some pictures of them tonight.

Thanks

In the American Standard of Perfection the Orpingtons can only have a Single comb...
What is the leg color and what color are the botom of the feet?
