Those saddle feathers are really rounded. Maybe a pullet, but comb says cockerel.

In this pic are my two BJG on the lowest rung (front of pic). The left is a male (named Jupiter), the right is the female (named Juno). They are the same age, but different size. Notice very different comb/ wattle development. Also, notice that the male has pointier saddle feathers on top of his back. His legs are enormous compared to the female. In this pic they are 17 weeks old.

And here they are around 40 weeks old. The BJG male is center of the top roost, sitting and the largest. The female is on the right side of the lower roost, also large. For comparison, we have 4 Black Australorps - The cockerel standing and facing the camera on the top rung, and then 3 females (from left on top rung #1, 4, 7). The BA cockerel is smaller than the BJG male in both height and width, but the BA is the cockerel in charge.

I've been looking for some side by side pics of NJG vs BA to post here.
since you have both would you mind showing an example of each of the feet ? i didn't realize how similar these birds are and am now questioning mine lol(mine were TSC buys that were suppose to be barred rock but i thought i figured out mine were australorps).
from the looks of the feet pics i have seen so far this threads posters seems to me to be BA because NJG feet look very yellow ( from the pics im seeing) and id say its a coc with the bright red big comb devolopment seems those saddle feathers are a little rounded but looks like they want to be pointy XD

anyways @Acre4Me would you mind terribly grabbing a pic of a NJG and a BA foot pic for our education please and hopefully thank you XD

@FnWeirdo, Here is a thread when my chicks were new and little -all feet pics! Both BA and BJG. Scroll down to a later post for my attempt at clearer pictures with a white background. Even when young, there are some differences.

Will try to get foot pics of them at this age, but will need my assistant (a moody tween) to help....but can always try the "Santa is watching you" route and maybe after an eye roll I might get some assistance... wish me luck!

Here are the foot pics - Black Australorp male and female versus a Black Jersey Giant Male and Female.

A white sheet of paper was placed behind for best contrast. Pics taken outside, but light was diffuse due to rain.

Overall, there is more yellow color in the BJG feet (but less yellow than when they were younger). While there is more pink color in the BA feet. BA are not supposed to have yellow in their feet.

I'm going with BJG without a doubt, with those yellow feet bottoms... And I'm going cockerel. I see pointed saddle feathers in those last pics of your bird, @Rena9.
Also, you may want to get some good clear pics of that barred rock. It looks really light in color for a female.
