Auto-feeding buckets.

I feed my chickens cracked corn and layer crumb. Is that right or do they need something elsr too?

I'm not an expert but that sounds good to me. I feed the same stuff and I have a flock block as well. I haven't been doing this very long though LOL

Corn is only 8% protein. Some of the feeds are already low at 16 to 18% . If you are going to feed corn or scratch grains , please switch to higher protein feed. There are many with 20% or even twenty eight per cent. I use flock raiser crumbles and do feed scratch grain at late evenings to let them have a special something at night for their crops to break down. I also give greens of some kind when I can grow or get them from the store. They have special vit. the chickens love and help to keep them healthy, eggs have a darker richer more vitamin rich yolk as well.
