Auto Humidity System!

I have used my Dickey's bator for a year now and it has the auto humidity system. The only issue I have is that about once a week I get mineral build up in the float and it clogs the water coming into the tray. First I used tap water and this year I used bottled water and it is still happening. Can I put something in the water that is safe for the eggs? Vinigar? Hoy much? I have a 5 gallon res.

Bottled water has minerals added for flavor.
