I've been researching and looking for ideas for making an automatic waterer using a 5 gallon bucket (will upgrade to rain barrel one day), 1" pvc pipe, and nipple waterers. I worked construction for many years, and plumbing projects are not a foreign concept for me. I do plan on using Teflon tape and silicone where needed to help prevent leaking. But I was wanting any last minute advise, tips, things you wished you had done different with yours. What height do you recommend for Buff Orpingtons, barred rocks, RIR, polish chickens, and black australorps? As always, pictures are nice to have.
