Could be any time in the next week or so, don't worry, the milk will be there for the babies. As a matter of fact, putting them on a teat as soon as possible will help with future contractions. Squeeze a bit to get some colostrum out will entice pup to suck. Will you have a vet or someone who is knowledgable with you?

No, our closet vet is an hour away. We've had a lot of other animals give birth, including a few dogs, so I'm not worried at all about the whelping, I just don't know a lot about the other little stuff.

My dad and my sister surprised me today by putting Avery's whelping box together and setting it up! I was planning on building it with my dad this weekend but I'm glad I don't have to worry about that now. I think it's going to work great. She already seems to like it!

I can almost see her tearing the papers up as she starts her contractions! I do miss those days, but not the stress and worry.
