Ayam Cemani Hatching Eggs?

Thanks! That's very helpful! Built in incubator thermostats usually are horrible. I liked the video!

Thanks!!

It really sucks. I mean....how hard to get something accurate? I'd happily pay $15 more for something that doesn't kill $90 in unborn freaking chicks, you know?

So, I drove an hour one way today to get a different incubator. The Farm Innovations 4250 was way off on temp to begin with, and when I tried to adjust it 0.5°F, it would swing 4°F (98°F to 102°F.

The new incubator is a Harris Farms Nurture Right 360. It's already seeming to be much, much better. Guess we see.

That's a good call. I've heard really good things about those. Let us know if its better!

Last weekend was a joke for incubators lol. I was looking for the newest model NR360. Drove 250 miles total...and bought THREE incubators...to get a working new model.

And it was a RETURN that the company shipped to Tractor Supply to sell as new.

Still haven't gotten a reply from their customer service either.

So, interesting twist.

I had found my eBay vendor for the Ayam Cemani on Facebook. I sent him the link to my candling video. He offered a FULL replacement of the 6 egg order...plus 2 eggs. For the same cost of shipping. $9.99. I told him it was unnecessary, and if he wanted he could send me 2 eggs just to cover the unfertilized ones...but he was insistent...so I sent him $12 to cover fees as well lol. Anyhow...he asked me if I would take a final egg his hen laid today (to round it out to 9 total). He said this egg was from a new bird and blood line in his Ayam Cemani program, but that it would be dumb for him to tie up his 250 egg incubator for one egg. He said she's a young bird, and it may not even hatch...but if I'd like to give it a try he'd send it over.

Pretty cool eBayer, and overall good person as well.

Anyhow, that makes 9 more possible chicks, plus the 2 (maybe 4?) that are still going from the original group.
