Ayam Cemani Peeps

Aw, thank you! I got them from a lady who has a breeding flock locally. I think I remember you mentioning yours in another thread. Do you have pictures posted? I love them too!

Here's an updated pic of 1, 2 and 3. I didn't get a good photo of the 4th. I'm pretty sure I have 3 pullets and 1 cockerel, unless any are going to be late bloomers. The darkest chick has a badly sprigged comb :( I would love to eventually have a trio or quad that was breeding quality, but those individual birds seem like needles in the haystack.

Thank you @mf1sh I'll try to get an updated photo to post. They look pretty much the same, I still think 3 pullets and 1 cockerel.

Have you posted photos of yours? You're welcome to add them here or in a new thread. If you do, will you tag me? I hate to miss Ayam Cemani posts.

Here is my cockerel. He's cute but not a deep true black unfortunately. You can see a pullet behind him that's much darker.

Here are a couple that I think are pullets.

Here you can see I've raised them with marans and ameraucanas. I've got a monochromatic theme in this pen :)

Yes, I'm mostly going on comb size at this point. With more time, feather features should add more clues. I want more of these guys but I've already brooded 2 batches of winter chicks and a 3rd batch won't fly. Maybe in spring!

I think one of my 3 Ayam Cemani babies is a roo. Look at that comb! 7 weeks old now.
