Has anyone ever heard of an Ayam Cemani crossed with Svarthöna, to try to add diversity to the breed once bred back to Ayam? It seems, at least in Canada, that many Ayams look like Svarts (Ayams that have more of a traditional chicken-type body, not really gamey) so I'm thinking quite a few might actually either be mixes of the two or actually Svarts sold as Cemanis since they fetch a much higher price.
Furthermore: One is a cyclic layer, the other isn't.
How is laying affected by breeding when crossing different breeds? If we were to cross the two (mostly to increase the gene pool), how would laying of both be affected? Would it be possible, for example, to create a gamey body-type Cemani that isn't a cyclic layer?
