Ayam Cemanis

You can check NPIP breeders and hatcheries by state here:
http://www.poultryimprovement.org/statesContent.cfm

They use stock codes. The stock code for this breed is:

I did a quick search of NC - no one listed.

Then SC = 3 listed

Then VA = 3 listed.

You can search other states, but I'll leave that up to you.

Good Luck.

I’m newly NPIP so I’m not listed yet. I just checked. We have Ayam Cemani. Well have eggs and chicks in fall and spring. We did a great deal of research and spared no time or expense when purchasing our 11 breeders. It is my opinion we have the best 3 lines in the world.
I’m not sure where you are but I’m in Wisconsin. As long as all bio security measures are followed, I extend you an invite to see our breeding flock.
Ayam Cemani is a breed like no other. You won’t regret that purchase. One thing- since they are so rare, there is a lot of myth out there about them. Such as:
1) all the voodoo crap. Have you read about the supernatural beliefs behind the breed? If not, a quick google search will reveal the comical beliefs about the breed.
2) they are said not to roost. It’s even in a hard cover book I own. This is 100% false. They roost the highest out of anything I have here. We had to build special coops to keep them from flying down into the wrong coop when roosting on water pipes laid across beams in the 20 foot ceding in our barn. They fly very well too!
3) I’m not sure if this is 100% myth but in my experience their blood is not black. It is very fire engine red. The only time I seen blood is when two roosters fought through a fence and the Cemani got his comb a little cut. He was fine but he did bleed red blood. This could be because it’s the comb and perhaps there’s more o2 in the comb that turns the blood a bright red- I don’t know. But they’re said to have black blood. This is def not the observation I’ve made.

That’s just a few. There’s lots more. One thing- we do not sell birds for butcher. We sell birds for pets or exhibition. If you’re looking for meat Cemani’s I’m sure there’s breeders out there for that sort of thing. We’re just not one of them. But we don’t condemn anyone who does it. We just make buyers sign a contract stating this won’t be their fate. There’s a lot of time, energy and money behind these three lines by quite a few people who are passionate for the breed (I am not one of them YET as I simply hatched other peoples eggs to get our flock)- but I was entrusted to see the lines are preserved. For the birds who are “culls” due to any potential flaw (ie a white nail or whatever) we either buy them back from you to place in a pet or egg laying home- or you can do it as long as they’re not for butcher or not placed in a breeding program.
We also request they are not crossbred with other breeds. But that’s not as hard and fast a condition as the non butcher clause.
If you’re not close by and looking for something more local I can check with the private breeder to breeder forum to see if I could make any referrals for you to a closer breeder. If you’d like to talk my number is 262-888-0446. Call or text anytime.

10 chick minimum. I do have Rhode Island red chicks you can add to the box for $2 each. Shipping is $25 flat rate. 3 female chicks would be $25 (so $75 total for the 3) each since they are sexed.

any chance you could just do the 3 ayam cemanis at maybe 30 each then? I already have so many chickens I would just end up giving those 7 away anyways.
