They are stunning! Are the same size as a Call duck?

Aztecs are larger than calls - somewhere between a call and a mallard (hence, the "wild" appearance). They are great flyers and have natural mothering instincts. Their plumage changes in the same manner that wild mallards change plumage throughout the year.

I was fairly surprised to see some hatching eggs being offered on ebay. I hope these little cuties make a comeback

Most will be for me. I may have a pair or two, if the hatch goes well, that can find new homes with people who want to help preserve the breed

This is a breed I would love to get into. They are quite the fetching duck. But because they are so rare I am likely going to have to wait for a little bit.

I would love to one day get to help this little breed.

I did a preliminary candling tonight and saw life in at least 27 of the eggs!
