Structural resin is not something I would attempt as a first project, that's for sure. What's the size of the area you want to cover and the depth? Generally speaking you want a commercial grade epoxy and if it's going to be more than about 1/2" deep you're going to want to do multiple pours to make sure it properly cures.

Stonecoat or total boat are the brands I would use, and it can be spendy. They're 150-ish a gallon. But the stuff you get at hobby stores is not intended for larger scale projects and won't last.

What's the size of the area you want to cover and the depth?

2.5 x 23 and 1.3 deep.

The idea hubby had was to find pretty rocks in the creek behind our house, and using the Epoxy to fill in around and over them.
