B.B. Red questions...help please

I received a couple B.B. Red eggs from a friend that just hatched (I have two) and I know nothing about the breed. A couple questions....(1) are they aggressive? (2) can roosters be kept together without fighting (3) are the chicks' sex evident in feather color? I noticed that some chicks are "chipmunk" colored and some are "rusty" colored. Any help appreciated!

Yes, if you can be more specific, there is plenty of information to be had here! Also,....large fowl, or bantam makes a difference too.

I dont believe there is large fowl old english in the US, but I could be wrong...

I'm just gana assume that they are oegb because odds are if you got bbreds that's what they are. They should all be chipmunk color if not there not bbreds.They can be aggressive but they are not true game, but it really depends on what your definition of aggressive is. I would call them cocky but not aggressive. some times you can keep cock birds together it depends on the birds, how much space they have, if there are hens around, ext. they can be color sexed at hatch with practice and its not 100%. The pullets are the ones with the darker lines around there eyes.

They are bantam OEG. I'm very unfamiliar with this type fowl. Both of the chicks I hatched are not chimpmunk colored like the ones I've seen on the web. They are a "rusty" color. So far, they are very active and have been zipping all over the brooder.

I guess they are kinda chipmunk colored but they don't have the dark stripes down the back. I'm going to take pics now.

The President of the Old English Game Club of America lives near me. He'll be surprised to hear this. The OE Club's National Meet is usually well over 150 head. Old English may be rare in some parts of the country but they are pleantiful in others. When I want to see some Large Fowl Old English I have only to walk out to my backyard.
